Self-Directed Learning expert Dr. Maurice Gibbons (emeritus professor, Simon Fraser University, Faculty of Education), has posted an essay of mine on his stellar website.

Titled, “It’s Time to Support Personalized Learning,” (found here), the essay provides a sound and research-grounded basis for supporting PL in K-12 learning programs and schools. I’ve covered some of the ground in blogs on this site, but I find the reasons for supporting PL to be more compelling with each passing season!

I consider Maurice an important and very worthy mentor in the field of Self-Directed Learning and I now enjoy meeting with him several times each year. He has been an important pioneer in this field, and I encourage others to review the resources  he posts on his website including his books and essays.
